A Bit of Somethig Different

I'm not exactly sure why I love these images. I've been waiting to post them for a while. I took a break from street fashion and just shot things that caught my eye. Enjoy.

Sometimes I Miss It

Sometimes I miss the times where fashion and art was enough. I miss the time when it gave me security within myself. This time I'm using it as a way of helping me cope with a lot of the issues that plague my days and destroy my nights. From it I hope to find peace to be able to deal with my own issues, fears, and inhibitions. I knew that trying this out again would be beneficial. And everytime I take a moment to visit it, I'm reminded of the joy I felt and the joy I can feel in life. I'm confident that through finding balance this joy will be something I can keep forever.

Hanging On - Active Child

I named this one after this super sick song I'm in love with right now.
I find its meaning so relatable for myself. Anyway more on that later

Look At What I Found

I think I'm really getting the hang of this. I've been really trying to take the little I've learned and apply it every time I shoot. It's refreshing to be able to stay inspired everyday by someone new. These were surprisingly all taken the same day.

-Just about everywhere

In love with whatever this is. Due to my inexperience I accidently took this while trying to take a shot of the street... "hey ma! Look what I did!"

This girl was with her two friends when I stopped her. I kindly introduced myself and asked if I could take a few shots. They all said yes, and all did really well. But when I got home I noticed this one shined. Natural smile, awesome accessories and killer look. Eventually, you'll see the others but for now it'll just be this one.

My favorite from the day. I cannot get enough of her dress. The whimsical detailing with the lace overlay sits perfectly on her. I find it quiet endearing.

This, if memory serves me, was the last shot of the day. Uptown is full of hipsters. Something I love about these "uncategorized" people is their constantly varied styles. Hipster culture always gets me. I can never stop my mini-obsession with it. It's vintage and retro, yet always so current.

La Matriarca

La matriarca: The Matriarch This is a piece I was commissioned for by my Aunt for her family reunion. The woman represents the center of the family. She is the center of the landscape and is also representative of the sun. Surrounding her is the beauty of her essence—the family. I love how everything is brought together just like my aunt's family will be when they all gather around her in Colorado this summer.

Green and White

Green and white go so well together. I don't really know what it is but for some reason they do. Perhaps it’s the sweet aroma of freshly cut grass on a warm spring day that comes to mind with greens—especially pastels. The white pairs off my fantastical experience by providing a sort of clarity. When done with such a light fabric it is remnant of the peace I feel when I'm submerged into a nature ridden paradise.

Festival del Verano: Pollo

I've always loved cooking. My mother got me into it a long time ago when I was begging her to prepare something for me to eat. I will admit that she isn't necessarily the showman, but she is definitely a great cook. She's got talent and a natural aesthetic in the kitchen that I have taken into my cullenary endevours.

This is something I threw together tonight for lunch this week.

I've named it
Festival del Verano: Pollo
- Fresh cut thyme and rosemary
- Habanero pepper
- Whole grain rice
- Baby bell peppers
- Garlic
- Chicken with bones
- Purple and red klondike potatoes
- Onion
- Mushroom
